Terms and Conditions
The Blade Doctor, LLC (Gabriel Frankewich) provides sharpening and repair for most blades and accessories; including but not limited to, shears/scissors, knives, clipper blades, lawn mower blades, saw blades, saw chains, stump grinder teeth, etc, to you (the client).
Prices are non-negotiable and are subject to change without notice.
Items will be returned sharp. The Blade Doctor, LLC (in part or whole) will not assume liability for any injuries incurred to you, or others, as a result of use or misuse of a sharpened (or purchased) blade.
Due to the increasing gas prices, a service fee of $5.00 will be applied for all on-site appointments within a 30 mile radius from our base location in Ballston Lake, NY; a service fee of $10.00 will be applied for all on-site appointments over 30 miles from our base location in Ballston Lake, NY.
Local Mobile On-Site sharpening requires a $25 minimum.
If you do not have enough items to total $25, we can schedule an appointment to drop off your items at our home-based workshop in Ballston lake, NY.
All services are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY!
Even if you have been to our home-based workshop previously, please respect our privacy and understand that we work from our home and people should not stop by unannounced.
If you are not satisfied with your sharpening, please contact us within 7 days of service. We will re-check your items and if there is an issue with our work, we will re-sharpen for free; Over 7 days will incur cost.
Payment is expected in full at the time of service. If you are unable to make the payment necessary at the time of service, The Blade Doctor reserves the right to hold your property until payment is remitted. You will have thirty (30) days to complete the transaction. After thirty (30) days, The Blade Doctor reserves the right, within the confines of New York State law, to collect any debt owed, by pursuing legal action and/or selling your property.
Any items left for more than 30 days after services rendered, or after pre-arranged pick up / shipping time, are considered abandoned and become the property of The Blade Doctor, LLC. Items may be sold to recoup costs of services. This means you have 30 days from the date of work completion to pay for the amount due and pick up your items (or shipped for mail-in orders). The Blade Doctor, LLC will contact you the on the day the work is complete (text, call, invoice sent to email), and at least one more time before the 30 days expires. After 30 days, you forfeit ownership of your items as they are now deemed abandoned, and The Blade Doctor shall gain ownership. The Blade Doctor shall sell the items to recoup any costs of storage, invoice totals, and materials. You will not be entitled to any remaining funds or profits from the sale, nor will you be entitled to any replacement, reimbursement, or refund of any kind. If you arrange for pick up or shipment of the items and you fail to show up or pay, or do not give reasonable notice to move the date, the 30 day window will not restart, and shall continue as originally stated. If you arrange for pickup beyond the 30 days, you will be required to provide full payment at the time you contact The Blade Doctor to schedule a pickup/shipping date.
Returned Checks - you are responsible to re-submit payment and all fees incurred as a result of a bounced check (to be paid by cash or money order).
A down payment may be necessary for some products and services. The down payment price will be negotiated at the time of service or sale and must be paid prior.
Forms of payment accepted are cash, checks, credit/debit cards, PayPal/Venmo/CashApp, or money order. You are responsible for any fees incurred as the result of a returned check.
In the beauty industry, if a stylist has to fix poor coloring work of another stylist, it's called a color correction and it is more expensive than a regular color treatment due to the amount of extra color and time needed. With that in mind, If you (the client) had your blades sharpened (shears, knives, clipper blades, etc) by The Blade Doctor, then had them sharpened by another only to have The Blade Doctor come back to fix or correct an issue or unsatisfactory work; we reserve the right to up-charge your sharpening as we see fit depending on the amount of damage caused by the other sharpener.
All purchases of Phantom Edge Shears are final - if there is an issue or you are unhappy about your purchase, The Blade Doctor will offer an exchange. This applies on the Phantom Edge line only. Any purchases made through a third party are final - no returns or exchanges.
